Chair

Working with CoastNet as a trustee drew many strands of my professional work and recreational life together; I am delighted to be appointed to support this important charity…”

John Lant was elected to the Chair of CoastNet in May 2011. He has extensive senior management experience in statutory and voluntary healthcare self-regulation and governance arising from appointment as a Privy Council Appointee to the General Osteopathic Council.

Working with the Prince's Foundation for Integrated Health as an Independent Chairman, he supported professional groups moving towards voluntary self-regulation. This work was funded by the Department of Health arising from The King’s Fund recommendations and a House or Lords report on Complementary Healthcare regulation.

He currently leads a group osteopathic practice in Cambridge and is Vice Chairman of The British School of Osteopathy in London and a Board Member of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council. Previous appointments have included Chairman of the UK College of Mediators, Arts Council England funding agencies, East Anglia Counselling Services, The Family Mediation Council, Cambridge Arts Theatre, John Ogdon Foundation, Dentists' & General Mutual and English Sinfonia.

He sails regularly at sea from Suffolk, reaching France and Belgium whenever time and a large family allow. Playing music creates opportunities to explore diverse cultures of our maritime legacy and folklore.
