Organising Littoral 2010
Eurocoast, EUCC and CoastNet are pleased to invite you to the 10th International Conference "Littoral 2010"
This event will be organised by CoastNet, a not-for-profit network that brings together thousands of coastal and marine professionals, institutions and community members from the UK and worldwide who care about the diverse aspects of coastal living and management.
CoastNet is spearheaded by its independent Board of Directors, comprised of leading professionals in all sectors of coastal management (Research, policy and practice). The CoastNet team brings together the expertise and skills to address our projects in a holistic way, approaching the issues from social, cultural and environmental viewpoints.
CoastNet works in four strategic areas: Policy, Communities, Governance and Knowledge management. Recently CoastNet’s activities have expanded to include policy advice and local community projects.
CoastNet was established in the UK in 1996 as a charity to raise awareness about coastal issues. Its main activities were conferences and publications for coastal practitioners. In 1997 the Eurocoast branch in the UK became part of CoastNet, and that international dimension has continued to this day.
CoastNet now boasts a unique understanding of social issues in coastal areas and is increasingly seen as a focal point for the community voice in the UK.
