Parasail technology can reduce ship fuel consumption by 50 per cent

A new technique, developed in Germany, involving an adapted parasail attached to a ship by cables, can reportedly use the wind to create a force large enough to move cargo vessels and cut annual fuel use by 10 to 30 per cent, reaching 50 per cent under optimal wind conditions.
